Hip Hop Academy's celebration of 50 Years of Hip-Hop
In December 2023, I had the privilege of capturing a celebration of Hip Hop culture at Kampnagel in Hamburg.
The event, called "The Living Room – 50 Years of Hip-Hop," brought together over 100 students from the academy to showcase the evolution of hip-hop culture through live performances involving singing, dancing and graffiti.
The program was split into two parts. First, the Pre-Program featured students from Levels 1 to 3, offering their own take on the rich history of hip-hop, from its origins to the present day. In the Main Performance, Masterclass students, under the direction of Philipp Kaufmann and choreographer Franklyn "Slunch" Kakyire, delivered a powerful music theater piece that brought the story of hip-hop to life, blending rap, dance, DJing, and original music.

Celebração dos 50 anos de hip-hop da Hip Hop Academy
Em dezembro de 2023, tive o privilégio de capturar uma celebração da cultura hip-hop em Kampnagel, em Hamburgo.
O evento, chamado "The Living Room – 50 Years of Hip-Hop", reuniu mais de 100 alunos da academia para mostrar a evolução da cultura hip-hop por meio de apresentações ao vivo envolvendo canto, dança e grafite.
O programa foi dividido em duas partes. Primeiro,os alunos dos níveis 1 a 3, oferecendo sua própria visão sobre a história do hip-hop, desde suas origens até os dias atuais. Na segunda apresentação, os alunos da Masterclass, sob a direção de Philipp Kaufmann e do coreógrafo Franklyn "Slunch" Kakyire, apresentaram uma poderosa peça de teatro musical que deu vida à história do hip-hop, misturando rap, dança, DJing e música original.
